missionmission

The three main missions entrusted to the Administration of the Treasury (in short: the Treasury) are:

the centralisation and accounting processing of all revenues and expenditure of the Federal Government
the management of the public debt
the payment of the salaries, wages and pensions of the staff of most of the State's administrations

The Treasury also has the authority to carry out the following missions:

the study and follow-up of international, European and domestic, monetary and financial issues
the issue and minting of coins
the supervision of and control over public-interest institutions and the management of the State's financial holdings in certain institutions

Furthermore, the administrator-general of the Treasury is officially in charge of 3 funds that operate distinctly from the Treasury:

the Deposit and Consignment Office
the National Distress Fund
the National Fund for War Pensions
